Mechanical Service

The mechanical service is composed of 9 staff members. It is managed according to the lab "matrix" organization (management in service and by experience). The service includes a design office and a manufacturing workshop.

Workshop

Prototypes are machined in the workshop mainly on a 3-axis machining centre (DMU70) and a Cazeneuve semi-digital lathe (Optimax 360) combined with CAM in TopSolid. We also have conventional machine tools (milling machine, lathe), as well as 3D printers.
Geometric tolerances are checked using Hexagon Global (numerically controlled) and MicroHite (manual) three-dimensional measuring machines in ISO 8 environments.

Design office

As part of the projects in which the mechanical engineering group is involved, the design office is responsible for the design and study of mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies. To carry out its activities, the design office is equipped with the following software:

 -   Computer-aided design (CAD): 3D Experience
 -   Finite element calculations: ANSYS
 -   Technical Data Management (TDM): ATRIUM
