The QUBIC instrument, whose objective is the observation of polarization anisotropies of the cosmic microwave background, is currently undergoing tests in Argentina before its installation at the observing site by mid-2022. The detectors of QUBIC are arrays of superconducting bolometers cooled to 350mK. The realization of these detectors requires several delicate processes of deposition and engraving that can only be performed in a clean room. After the deposition of the superconducting thermal sensor on a silicon wafer at the IJCLab, the key steps for the realization of the arrays are done in the nano-fabrication facility at C2N presented in this video by the magazine le blob.
