I was the project manager for the Arecibo L-band Feed Array, and eventually served a brief mandate as Head of Astronomy at Arecibo. I ultimately came into dispute with senior management over their questionable management practices on the Arecibo site, and their lack of respect for the peer-review process, including their favouritism to a few, long term Arecibo users. Eventually, those influential people, together with the questionable-practitioners, complained to the highest levels of Cornell administration...

The dream had become a nightmare.
