About this version

New features as compared to 1.7.3 are:

• Several bugs that impacted the generation of gaussian CMB (introduced during the reorganisation made necessary for FFP4 simulations) have been fixed.
• There are new default Planck RIMOs (version 20120124 for the HFI, and 30122011_DX8 for the LFI).
• Some of the alternate models for synchrotron and free-free emission have been revised, and are now operational.
• New parameters have been introduced for more flexibility in the simulation of galactic synchrotron and free-free.
• Noise generation in observation maps has been corrected (in the previous release the noise added in the co-added map is a different realisation than that stored as a separate map).
• The radio emission of ultra compact H-II regions has been revised;
• The level of dust polarisation can now be adjusted by the PSM user, and the default value is in agreement with the Archeops measurements.

Version 1.7.4 of the PSM has been used to generate the second version of diffuse foreground emission for the FFP4 full focal plane simulations of the Planck collaboration. These simulations are accessible only to Planck Core Team members (ask for the username and password to access the download page).
