CNES and the Institut de Physique du Globe de Paris (Université Paris Cité/IPGP/CNRS) have been selected to integrate a seismometer on the next NASA lunar mission. As part of the Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) programme, NASA has just selected Draper to send the lander that will carry this instrument and land on the Moon in May 2025.
APC's contribution in support of the IPGP consisted of mechanical studies, the production of parts, metrology and a contribution to integration in strong synergy with the IPGP.
In addition to the space aspects, this collaboration allows to better understand the constraints of the lunar environment.
