Search for neutrino sources of IceCube data

Recently IceCube collaboration discovered astrophysical neutrinos  of unknown origin.

 Our group  developed methods to study  both galactic and extragalactic contributions to to this signal.

Goal of this stage is to develop  model of astrophysical neutrino sources, which consistent both with neutrino and 

gamma-ray data and make predictions for  contributions of various classes of astrophysical sources

in future data of IceCube and km3 experiments

Multi-messenger sources of cosmic rays, gamma-rays and neutrinos

Astrophysical neutrinos measured by ICECUBE challenge existing models of multi-messenger sources. Goal of thesis is modeling of sources of cosmic rays, gamma rays and neutrinos taking into account all experimental constraints from direct measurements, KASCADE-Grande and Pierre Auger Observatory for cosmic rays, HESS, Fermi and CTA for gamma-rays and ICECUBE/km3 for neutrinos, study propagation of cosmic rays and gamma-rays in the Galaxy and intergalactic space, search for the imprints of such sources in the experimental data.

Recently IceCube collaboration discovered astrophysical neutrinos  of unknown origin. Our group  developed methods to study  both galactic and extragalactic contributions to to this signal.  

In particular we established first evidence of Galaxy signal in IceCube data.

Goal of this stage is to develop our model of astrophysical neutrinos and make predictions for contributions of various classes of astrophysical sourcesin future data of IceCube and km3 experiments.

Cosmological models of composite dark matter and their physical and astrophysical tests

The topic of dark matter is not, unfortunately, widely explored, especially, in the direction of composite dark matter models, which attract more interest in view of the problems of  direct searches for simple dark matter candidates like WIMPs or  supersymmetric particles. The development of such models implies  studies of physics Beyond the Standard model, cosmological scenarios  of LSS formation and astrophysical and physical probes for the  composite dark matter constituents.

Malgré les nombreux succès de la Chromodynamique Quantique (QCD), la théorie des interactions fortes, certaines de ses propriétés fondamentales les plus fascinantes sont encore mal comprises. Le phénomène énigmatique du confinement, qui lie les quarks à l'intérieur des hadrons, ou encore la brisure spontanée de la symétrie chirale, analogue à un phénomène de condensation de paires quark-antiquark et responsable de l'essentiel de la masse des nucléons, restent des questions ouvertes majeures.

Novel neutrino flavour conversion phenomena in media

A major progress has been made in neutrino physics after the discovery of the neutrino oscillation phenomenon by the Super-Kamiokande and SNO experiments.  This discovery has shown that neutrinos are massive particles with mixings. Most of the oscillation parameters are nowadays precisely measured. However crucial open questions remain concerning the absolute neutrino mass and mass ordering, the neutrino Dirac versus Majorana nature, the existence of sterile neutrinos and of CP violation in the lepton sector.

Holography, Gravity and the Standard Model

The aim of this thesis project is to adress a  part of the projet below.
