Dear all,

The next session will be held on October 28 at 14h at IAP (salle des séminaires).

We will be happy to welcome Julien Peloton (LAL) who is leading the french initiative “Fink”. For those of you who are not aware of the project yet, it aims at proposing a broker infrastructure to the LSST in order to digest the very large number of alerts, crossmatch them with other alerts and catalogues and redistribute the information to users and experiments worldwide. This project happens in a timely framework and may be of interest for several of us.

In parallel, you can already mark your calendar for the November and December sessions that will respectively take place on:

• November 26, 14h at APC (room 454A)
• December 17, 14h at IAP (room to be confirmed).

Feel free to propose any topic you would like to discuss. We have already received some suggestions but we are of course open to new ideas. Also, we invite PhD students and postdocs to propose a short and informal presentation of their work that can be given at the end of each session.

Meanwhile, we remind you that a dedicated mailing list is used to distribute information about the journal-club. Please circulate the information to new members in your teams who can sign up at http://listserv.in2p3.fr/archives/mm-meetings-idf-l.html .
